Blurred lines.

Bill Malloy was a bachelor in 2002 when he bought a beach cottage tucked in a cul-de-sac in Bird Rock La Jolla. After getting married, he and his family thought of moving but realized that they loved the neighborhood and view so much that they stayed. The new 3,600-square-foot home with four bedrooms and three baths was designed by architect David Hertz in collaboration with Marmol Radziner, named among the top 100 architects of the world.

“The home opens up to a massive indoor/outdoor space with polished concrete flooring that together blurs the lines between the inside and outside,” Bill Malloy said, adding that he relishes the view “from the ocean to the SeaWorld fireworks” standing on the 2,000-square-foot hardwood rooftop deck.
